Transcript of the 1755 Will of Sarah Tomkinson of Marston, Staffordshire

In the name of God amen I Sarah Tomkinson of Marston in parish of Saint Maris in the county of Stafford Widdo being of a sound mind and understanding Do make and ordain this my last will and testament in maner following That is to say first and principally I Recommend my Soul into the hands of Almighty God trusting to obtain salvation thro the merits Dearth and Passion of my Blessed Saviour and Redeemer Jesus Christ to have full and free Pardon and Forgiveness for all Sins and to inherit everlasting life My Body I commit to the Earth to be decantly intered at the discretion of my Executours hereafter named and as touching the disposal of such temporal estates as it hath pleased God Almighty to bestow upon me I do hereby give and dispose of the same as followeth First I Will that all my debts and funeral expencis be paid and satisfyed

Also I give Devise and bequeath to my Son John Tomkinson all the effects and monney that I am Posest of at my decease paying the legacis to my six Children hearafter Nameed within twelfe months after my Decease

also I give to my Son Thomas Tomkinson the sume of fifteen pound

also I give to my Son Francis Tomkinson the sume of fifteen pound

also I give to my Son Richard Tomkinson the sume of twenty fife pound

also I give to my Dauter Mary Tomkinson the sume of forty pound

also I give to my Son William Tomkinson the sume of twenty five pound

also Lastly I give to my Dauter Ann Tomkinson the sume of forty pound to be paid her at the age of twenty one years in case her Mother Sarah Tomkinson shall be Deceased

Lastly I do hereby Nominate Constitute and Apint my Son John Tomkinson Joseph Hall John Dawson my Executors of this my Last Will and Testament in Witnes Where of I have hereunto put my hand and Sail this nineteen day of febuary and in the year of one Thousand Seven Hundert and fifty five
